Hi, I’m Kristen. I’m a Registered Social Worker (RSW) with a Master of Social Work (MSW) degree. I’m really passionate about supporting youth and families through life’s ups and downs.

Growing up isn’t always easy—things like anxiety, depression, relationships, identity, or family stress can feel overwhelming. My goal is to create a space where you can show up exactly as you are, without judgment. You don’t need to have everything figured out—I’m here to listen, support you, and help you build tools to feel more confident and in control.

I have clinical experience supporting youth who are navigating concerns such as depression, anxiety, self-harm, and addictions. I understand the importance of providing affirming, trauma-informed care for youth from diverse cultural and LGBTQ2S+ communities.

In my practice, I draw from evidence-based approaches like Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), EMDR, Solution-Focused Brief Therapy, and Gottman Method Couples Therapy. Together, we can work on building resilience, improving communication, and healing from difficult experiences.

When I am not working, I enjoy my time at the rink watching my 2 boys play hockey. I am an avid Oilers fan and I am always on the lookout for new kicks, it may be a bit of an obsession… I also believe it is important to continue to learn about things and try new experiences, especially when it comes to cooking. I am currently learning everything I need to know about making sourdough and my family is enjoying the results!

My goal is to keep therapy real, approachable, and tailored to you. I look forward to working with you.

Hi, I am Laura! I am a Registered Psychologist with a PhD in School and Clinical Psychology. I have specialized training in therapy as well as psycho-educational assessment. In addition to my work as a practitioner, I am a full-time faculty member in the Department of Psychology at MacEwan University where I teach about psychology and assessments.

We all have the capacity to stray from our authentic selves, sometimes to gain approval or acceptance from others, or because our worth is tied to something outside of us. The further we shift from our truest selves, the more we see issues like anxiety and depression arise. I understand that seeking counselling and discussing your concerns with a stranger can be very intimidating. There are times in our lives, however, when this may not only be helpful, but even necessary. My goal is to help you rediscover your authentic self and to find the courage to begin living from a place of truth.

I believe that individuals hold, within themselves, the power to change their circumstances. My goal is to provide the right environment to encourage that growth and development.

Over the past 15 years, I have acquired education, training, and experience in working collaboratively with clients to help them achieve their personal goals. I practice within a person-centered framework and focus on creating an environment where my client feels safe and unconditionally accepted, so they may begin to live more authentically.

At Thrive, I am excited to be offering a variety of assessments for youth, children and young adults on a part time basis.

I would be honoured to support you in your journey of finding and accepting your truest self.

I am in good standing with the College of Alberta Psychologists and the Psychologists’ Association of Alberta.

I am here for my clients to provide them with a non-judgmental, safe space to have a voice. Using empathy, genuine concern, and unconditional positive regard, I join my clients as they look inward and attune to their physiology, notice their thoughts, and welcome/accept their emotions. Hi, I’m Iva!

Growing up can be a lot. There’s school, friendships, family, relationships, expectations, figuring out who you are and sometimes carrying things that the people around you may not even know you’re carrying.

If life has felt overwhelming lately, you don’t have to come into therapy knowing exactly what’s wrong or having the perfect words to explain it. We can start wherever you’re at.

I have a particular interest in supporting neurodivergent children and teens, including those with ADHD and autism, as well as young people navigating trauma, anxiety, overwhelming emotions, relationships, self-esteem and difficult life experiences.

I bring over a decade of frontline experience supporting children, youth, adults and families, including individuals with diverse disabilities and communication needs. For the past five years, I’ve worked extensively with children and adolescents impacted by sexual abuse and complex trauma. That experience has shaped the way I approach therapy and taught me that there is no single “right” way to think, communicate, cope or experience the world.

When we meet, you don’t need to know exactly what to say and we can go at your pace. There’s room for hard conversations, laughter, creativity and just being yourself.

For me, trauma-informed therapy means that you are never just a diagnosis, a behaviour or the hardest thing that has happened to you. You’re a whole person with strengths, interests, relationships, hopes and a story that belongs to you.

And if you’re neurodivergent, I don’t want therapy to become another place where you feel pressure to hide parts of yourself. I want to understand how your brain experiences the world, what feels difficult, what helps and the strengths you already have that we can build on.

Above everything else, I want you to know that coming to therapy doesn’t mean someone has decided there is something wrong with you.

You don’t need to show up as the best version of yourself. Just show up exactly as you are.

And because I think it’s only fair that you know a little about the person sitting across from you, here’s a little about me too. Outside of the therapy room, I’m happiest when there’s a little adventure involved. I’m a big fan of hiking, snowboarding, wake surfing, travelling and my dog Titus is one of my favourite adventure buddies.

Hello! My name is Nathan and I am a Canadian Certified Counsellor with over 15 years of experience in a variety of roles supporting youth, adults, and families.

I love working with and coming along side youth (and their families) as they navigate difficult seasons and experiences; anxiety, depression, trauma, life changes, and relationship difficulties. A lot of the youth I’ve supported have been a part of marginalized or vulnerable communities including the LGBTQIA2S+ community, people experiencing barriers due to disabilities, and those experiencing substance use struggles.

My experience also extends to the foster/kinship care system and the families that exist within it. Growing a family in non traditional ways pose challenges for everyone. I love to support those who are experiencing this.

As a therapist I utilize a person centred approach that is rooted in attachment, relying heavily on the relationship that is being developed between us. I also sprinkle in some DBT and Narrative Therapy as well.

When I’m not in the office, you can find me playing/coaching baseball (and other not as good sports) with my 4 children, listening to music, reading, and trying to find a body of water to be near.

I’m looking forward to meeting you.

I’m Jaime, a Registered Provisional Psychologist who believes that everyone has a unique story, strengths, and the ability to grow, even when life feels difficult. I strive to create a safe, welcoming, and judgment-free space where young people can feel comfortable being themselves and talking about what matters to them.

I was born in Colombia and later moved to Canada, which gave me firsthand experience with starting over in a new place, adapting to change, and building a new sense of belonging. These experiences have taught me the importance of having people in your life who listen, support you, and believe in your potential.

I have a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Universidad Católica de Colombia and a Master’s degree in Counselling Psychology from Athabasca University. I have also completed training in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and continue to develop my knowledge and skills in different approaches to mental health and counselling. Through my work, I have had the opportunity to support children and teenagers as they navigate different challenges and transitions. I enjoy helping young people better understand their emotions, build self-esteem and confidence, develop healthy relationships, manage difficult experiences, and recognize their own strengths.

My approach is collaborative, I believe you are the expert on your own life, and my role is to walk alongside you as you work toward your goals.

Outside of work, I enjoy playing guitar, reading fantasy books, biking, painting, and gardening. I also enjoy learning about different cultures, meeting new people, and trying new things. One thing I’ve learned throughout my life is that asking for help is not a sign of weakness, it’s a sign that you care about yourself and want things to get better. You don’t have to have everything figured out. Sometimes, having someone listen and help you make sense of things can be the first step toward moving forward.

My philosophy is to approach mental health from a holistic perspective, including the mind, body, environment, social context, and culture in which an individual situates themselves. There are many elements that make up who we are, and I believe that all of these contribute to our strengths and challenges. I welcome individuals from all cultures, genders, and sexual identities.

The areas I work in include friend and family relationships, ADHD, conflict resolution and problem solving, anxiety, depression, and body image.

I work with children, teens, young adults, and families who are seeking a different way to explore and express emotions. Art therapy provides a unique means of communication that goes beyond words to help those who often have difficulty opening up.

I truly care about my clients’ well-being and hope to bring art therapy services that promote growth, change, and wellness. I believe in whole-person care, and I wish to provide a safe haven where creativity and self-exploration can flourish to address emotional, behavioural, social, and psychological issues. Therapy is sought-out for a number of reasons, but it is my belief that anyone can benefit from feeling truly seen and heard. My art therapy practice can be tailored to address the unique concerns and the difficulties you, your child or teen is facing. With children, I largely specialize in anxiety, anger, depression, boundary development and family/home life instability. My work with teens primarily focuses on delinquency, behaviour management, social skills, anxiety and general coping. With young adults, my work is centred around stress management, self-reflection, grief and loss, and general coping.

Finally, my work with families focuses on behaviour management, family and home life instability, and grief and loss. I am also particularly adept at helping children and youth with selective mutism.

My experience is varied through schools, community resources spaces, in-patient centres, and private practice. I have worked with kids, teens, adults, and seniors in a capacity that is always judgement-free, culturally sensitive, developmentally appropriate, trauma-informed, and attachment-based.

When I’m not facilitating art therapy I love trying new restaurants, spending time outdoors and with animals, making the most of every holiday and occasion, and spending time alone reading, puzzling, and crafting.

I look forward to walking alongside you on your art therapy journey!

I recognize that our teenage years come with unique experiences that shape who we are.

Hello!

My name is Noah Naboulsi, and I’m currently a Master of Counselling student. I’m passionate about supporting teens and young people as they work through challenges, build confidence, and grow into the most authentic version of themselves. Before starting my journey in counselling, I completed a Bachelor of Science degree. I have worked in the medical field, which has given me the opportunity to connect with people from many different backgrounds. This role has taught me the importance of patience, communication, and making people feel comfortable and supported.

A big part of my life has also been hockey. I’ve played hockey since I was four years old, and I now coach AAA-level hockey. Being involved in the sport for most of my life has taught me a lot about resilience, teamwork, discipline, and leadership. Coaching has also shown me how important it is for young people to have someone who believes in them and helps them recognize their own strengths. When I’m not working, studying, or coaching, I’m usually spending time with family and friends, at the rink, staying active, or finding ways to recharge. I try to bring the same values I’ve learned through sport and life into my work with others: honesty, encouragement, connection, and support.

As I continue my journey in the counselling field, my goal is to create a safe, welcoming, and non-judgemental space where teens feel comfortable being themselves. I hope to support young people in building confidence, understanding who they are, and moving toward a life that feels genuine and meaningful for themselves.

I look forward to meeting you!

CURRENTLY FULL - NOT ACCEPTING NEW CLIENTS Hello! My name is Myah, and I’m very passionate about supporting children, teens, and families as they navigate life’s challenges and work toward growth and healing.

My journey in the mental health field began several years ago at Alberta Hospital Edmonton, where I’ve had the privilege and opportunity to work with a wide range of individuals and families. During my time there as a psychiatric aide, I’ve supported clients in acute psychiatric care, forensic care, psychiatric rehabilitation, and several youth programs including PChAD, Stabilization, and Recovery.

Alongside this, I currently work as a Child and Youth Development Specialist at the Royal Alexandra Hospital and Glenrose Hospital on several child psych units. In this role, I focus on helping youth in acute and transitionary care, and assist them in developing coping skills, building confidence, emotional regulation skills, and strengthening overall emotional and social well-being in hospital and community settings.

Before starting my career in mental health, i was also a NCAA Division 1 and USports soccer player at the University of Memphis and Grant MacEwan. My athletic experience has taught me the importance of mental resilience, teamwork, and self belief — values that now shape my approach to counselling and my understanding of how our mindset can shape and influence performance and well-being.

When I’m not working, you can usually find me hiking, painting/drawing, playing soccer, travelling, or anything that gets my adrenaline going! Staying active and connecting with nature is a big part of how I recharge and maintain balance in my own life — something I also encourage in the youth and families I support!

As I continue my journey toward becoming a registered psychologist, I remain committed to providing care that is person centred, trauma-informed, and strength-based. My goal is also to create a safe and non-judgemental space where children, teens, and families feel supported and empowered to grow.

Well met, traveller! My name is Andi (they/them), and I am a Master’s Clinical Intern looking to be a guide in your exploration of your inner selves. I have over 7 years of experience teaching junior high Fine Arts and English, and 5 years of teaching high school theatre. Through my work as an educator, I have journeyed alongside many teens with a wide variety of backgrounds and lived experiences including neurodiversity, faith-questioning, gender affirmation, and more.

Here at Thrive, my goal is to help you find a soft place to land either one-on-one, with your family, or in a community. I have been part of many GSA spaces, DND campaigns, anime conventions, and the kickboxing ring. I know what it’s like to be an outcast and how to build resiliency and hope in the face of challenges and fear.

Working with me means finding safety with someone who truly sees the best in you and accepts the parts you’d rather no one sees. You will sit with someone who is genuinely curious about your whole story, all the chapters that came to this moment and what’s in store for the next few pages.

Whatever your goals are, even if you don’t know them yet, I am honored to be invited to be with you on your quest as a thoughtful side character who is willing to take risks, make mistakes, and ultimately always has your back.

No one will ever know you the way you know you, and I can’t wait for us to get to know all of the different parts of you together.

Hello, my name is Blythe. I am a certified Canadian counselor and I have a Master’s of education degree in counselling psychology with a specialization in addiction and mental health. I have worked in the field for almost 15 years and most recently in the education sector, working as a counselor to grades K to 12, then as a mental health therapist for post secondary students.

As a counsellor, I specialize in trauma informed care and am trained in Attachment Focused EMDR (through the Parnell Institute). I am client-centered in my approach, where I believe empathy, non-judgment, and safety are the building blocks to creating healthy therapeutic relationships.

I also follow existentialism as a counselling philosophy and have a deep interest in life changes and transitions. Seeking understanding from the client’s perspective and lending support in making rational decisions gives the client autonomy and promotes self-awareness. (e.i. Moving to a new city, graduating high school and attending post-secondary, etc).

I am an indigenous woman from the Blackfoot territory in southern Alberta and have a passion for working with indigenous youth and young adults. I use anti-racist practices and intersectionality. Some area of my area of interests include: gender affirming care, LGBTQ2+, ADHD in women and girls, ADHD/neurodiversity, anxiety, depression, self harm, substance use/abuse, suicide assessments, threat assessment, school based issues, and healthy relationships/intimate partner violence.

When I am not counselling, I love to travel and to spend time with my dog and cat, Fredo and Judy. I also enjoy live music, horror movies, True Crime podcasts, and collecting mugs. I love nature, (but not winter) and exploring new cities.

I look forward to meeting with you!
